I’m currently a master’s student at New York University studying Magazine & Digital Storytelling, but I recently graduated from the University of Kentucky with a B.A. in Print/Multimedia Journalism. While I was at UK, I was the editor-in-chief of our student-run publication KRNL Lifestyle + Fashion Magazine, where I discovered my love for journalism and storytelling. My work at KRNL resulted in a number of collegiate journalism awards and honors, which I proudly boast on my awards page.

While I’m currently based in New York City, I’ve had the privilege of getting to live in cities all over the world, from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to Atlanta, Georgia to Toronto, Canada. Travel is important to me and my family, and I love learning and writing about all the beautiful cultures that make our world so diverse. My family is from Damascus, Syria, and my heritage is incredibly important to me. I love writing about the Arab world and its cultures, art and stories. Any opportunity to get to highlight Arab culture is one that I am happy to take.

I love writing about anything related to culture, the arts, fashion, lifestyle and entertainment, but I do consider myself a generalist and take interest in anything and everything. My work has been published in the Los Angeles Times, Family Style, Office Magazine and more, where I’ve covered topics ranging from tariffs in the United States to art exhibitions in New York City to Syrian asylum seekers trying to go home. My full portfolio of selected works can be viewed here.

I’m available for freelance writing assignments! Feel free to reach out by email for a chat :)
